Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "Please provide something on my throat here, I've been stabbed in the throat." Sergeant Ansell sustained two open wounds to his throat and additional cuts to his limbs and torso, while Sergeant Foster experienced slash wounds. Officials stated Sgt Foster used his bare hands to stop his partner's bleeding before medical personnel reached the scene.
